For this project we started with the song selection. My partner, Sam, came up with several songs we could use and we chose one together. After that we pitched some ideas back and forth and we settled on this one that seemed to have the most potential.
The story is that two colleagues are reading documents side by side and one of them elbows the other before they get up and go. The elbowed colleague found that very annoying and from his guts comes out an arm that just flips people off. The Middle Finger then becomes a character (and a bad influence) that suggests things to him.
The colleague then struggles with the finger and tries to put it away before someone sees, but the finger fights back.
He finally manages it and pretends nothing is going on.
Here is the final animation:
I think the hardest part of this assignment was to match the animation with the soundtrack and to remember that every frame wasn't a second and therefore things needed to be very slow in order to make a somewhat smooth animation.
